Stephen held a Bachelor's degree from Morehouse College and a Master's in Public Policy from the University of Chicago, before securing his JD from Harvard Law School. He has been involved in the law admissions process for over five years, during which he worked as an LSAT tutor at a leading testing company.

Stephen is driven by a genuine passion for law and education. He has spent years helping aspiring law students map out their journey, breaking down the complex application process into manageable steps. His dedication to the profession is reflected in his constant commitment to staying updated with the latest trends and changes in law school admissions.

As an admissions counselor, Stephen's strengths lie in guiding students to identify their unique skills and abilities. He aids students in crafting compelling narratives that align with their career goals. His extensive experience and deep understanding of the law school admissions process enable him to provide tailored guidance and support to each student. Stephen is excited to work with Juris students and help them achieve their career goals!

On a personal note, Stephen is an avid basketball enthusiast. Whether it's playing a game of pick-up basketball or following his favorite teams, Stephen's love for the sport is evident. He often uses sports analogies to explain complex concepts, creating a relaxed and enjoyable learning environment. 

Kayla has a Bachelor's degree in English from Illinois State University and a JD from the University of Illinois at Chicago’s College of Law. While applying for law school, Kayla was working full-time and tackled the process all on her own. She hopes to offer new applicants the support she would have loved to have throughout the application process.

Her coaching journey began after she had been admitted to law school, when a few of her coworkers decided to apply and needed guidance. It was there she found her passion for education, coaching, and helping young law school hopefuls achieve their dreams. On the Juris team, Kayla combines her English degree with her law school expertise to help students create stand-out essays in their applications. 

Kayla’s greatest strength as a counselor is helping students identify their strengths. She prides herself on her ability to help Juris applicants better understand how to highlight their unique qualities to stand out during the application process. Above all, Kayla is a driven individual who is excited to help Juris applicants get into their dream schools!

In her free time, Kayla likes to take her dog to the dog park, and try out new local restaurants. She’s also a fan of Chicago sports!

Mika completed her undergraduate studies at Claremont McKenna College before beginning her legal journey. After taking the LSAT twice, scoring a 172 and then a 179, Mika was offered acceptance to several prestigious law schools, including Washington University in St. Louis, UC Irvine, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, and the University of Chicago. She ultimately chose to complete her JD at the University of Chicago. 

Mika has extensive experience tutoring for the LSAT and working in the legal field. She clerked for the (ret.) Honorable Christopher S. Sontchi in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware and worked as a corporate bankruptcy litigator for five and a half years in Delaware and New York before returning to teaching.  

Mika employs the EDIP (explain, demonstrate, imitate, and practice) method in her tutoring sessions, ensuring thorough understanding and skill development. She also integrates the "TEACH" approach, emphasizing trust, empowerment, appreciation, communication, and humor to motivate and engage her students.

In her free time, Mika loves to roller skate, dance, and play video games. She is also a lifelong learner and is particularly interested in classical, medieval, and Victorian-era history. She's currently reading Catching Fire, a nonfiction book on the effects cooking had on humankind's evolution.
