Calandra’s career spans big firms, small firms, and government practice. For the past 20 years, she has specialized in appellate litigation in her current role. She has also served as an alumni interviewer at Harvard College. Her deep understanding of the legal profession informs her strategic approach to admissions consulting, helping candidates craft compelling narratives and strong applications.

As a coach, Calandra's primary goal is to help students gain acceptance to the country’s top law schools. However, she seeks to accomplish much more for them, given that law school is one of the most significant commitments anyone can make. Calandra aims to empower students to achieve success, happiness, and fulfillment in the rapidly evolving and competitive field of law. She helps students identify and articulate their personal and professional goals before strategizing to select the law schools that best align with those goals. 

Calandra’s passion for consulting is deeply rooted in her own career journey, including her admissions success and her struggles to find career satisfaction in the early stages of her profession. She believes her experience demonstrates the impact of well-thought-out applications and individualized career planning. Drawing on the lessons she’s learned, Calandra is driven to support students in reaching their goals while helping them avoid the common pitfalls that applicants, students, and new lawyers often face.

Aside from her passion for law and guiding students, Calandra loves cats and Home Depot, and she'll be the first to admit she might be a bit obsessed with both!

While at NYU, Christina was recognized for her achievements as a Presidential Honors Scholar and Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholar. As a lawyer, Christina believes in due process and that everyone should have access to justice. Prior to attending law school, she served in the Pro Bono department at Safe Passage Project, recruiting and supporting volunteer interpreters and over 400 pro bono attorneys to help unaccompanied minors secure permanent legal relief.

Christina’s passion for coaching began when she started informally coaching several friends and law students through the application process. She thoroughly enjoys helping students draft and edit compelling personal statements, build strong resumes and addenda, and write excellent diversity statements. She has helped students prepare for their law school interviews and secure thousands of dollars in scholarships through scholarship negotiation with schools and by applying to outside scholarship opportunities.

As a coach, Christina’s greatest strength is thinking outside of the box to help candidates build a strong profile for law school. She is a major advocate for informal networking and believes it is not only a key part of the law school admissions process but is also excellent for career development later on. Additionally, Christina excels at helping students find ways to increase face time with law schools, obtain fee waivers, and draft letters of continued interest to help them stand out from other candidates.

Tamar graduated from Vanderbilt University with a double major in English and gender studies and a minor in human & organizational development. As an undergraduate, she was recognized as a College of Arts & Science honors student, presented her work at both the Undergraduate Symposium and the Women’s & Gender Studies Undergraduate Research Conference, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.

After graduation, Tamar was awarded a prestigious Fulbright Scholarship and served as an English teaching assistant in Taichung, Taiwan. Upon returning to the U.S., she joined AmeriCorps as a member of Playworks Illinois, where she served students in underserved Chicago schools.

At the University of Michigan, Tamar served as a student attorney in the Child Welfare Appellate Clinic and the Child Advocacy Law Clinic and worked as a research assistant. She also spent a transformative semester in Cape Town, South Africa, working with the Refugee Rights Clinic at the University of Cape Town. Additionally, she served as a graduate student instructor in the American Studies and Gender Studies Departments. Tamar was awarded multiple scholarships during law school, including the Dean’s Scholarship, Armenian International Women's Association Scholarship, Harry Klein & Shirley Klein Legal Scholarship, and others.

Tamar’s unwavering commitment to social justice earned her the highly coveted Skadden Fellowship. Through this fellowship, she led a two-year project in Los Angeles focused on enforcing the rights of LGBTQ+ foster youth. As a Practitioner-in-Residence at American University Washington College of Law, Tamar guides 3L students as they represent survivors of intimate partner violence and assists clients with name and gender marker changes. Tamar’s research has been published in the Michigan Journal of Gender & Law and the Journal of Service-Learning in Higher Education. 

In addition to her professional achievements, Tamar has extensive experience guiding prospective law students through the application process. Her expertise has helped candidates gain admission to some of the nation’s top law schools. Known for her organizational skills, attention to detail, and encouraging demeanor, she excels at helping applicants present their best selves through compelling and polished application materials. Tamar takes great pride in helping aspiring lawyers achieve their goals and finds deep satisfaction in supporting them through this transformative journey.

Outside of work and coaching, Tamar enjoys reading, stress baking, and printmaking.

Krystle’s academic journey began at Arizona State University, where she graduated first in her class. She then earned her JD from the University of Pennsylvania Law School, along with a business and public policy certificate from the Wharton School of Business. Committed to broadening her global perspective, she pursued an MBA from Webster University through an immersive program that combined academic coursework with hands-on business experience across Europe and Asia. She has been awarded numerous scholarships throughout her academic journey, including the University of Pennsylvania Dean's Merit Scholarship and Ford Motor Company Honors Scholarship. 

After law school, Krystle worked in Big Law in New York and California. She founded CIMI Ventures, a law firm dedicated to helping diverse clients, from nonprofits to multi-billion-dollar companies, grow. Krystle is deeply committed to serving as a community leader. She frequently speaks on topics related to law, business, and strategy and enjoys mentoring students as they explore how to maximize their advanced degrees. Krystle has consistently coached students with their academic growth through her roles as a University of Pennsylvania alumni ambassador, adjunct professor, university business case competition judge, and mentor.

Additionally, Krystle has served as a Board Director for the Seattle Animal Shelter Foundation, a Fellow with the World Affairs Council, an adjunct professor at Marymount California University, and Assistant General Counsel for the San Diego Padres (on secondment). She was also honored as a Cultural Ambassador through the City of London Arizona Education Trust (COLAET).  

One of Krystle’s greatest strengths as an admissions coach is her ability to connect with applicants on a personal level. She helps each candidate identify their unique strengths and craft compelling, authentic, and memorable essays. Passionate about life design, her approach to admissions consulting is holistic and student-centered. She understands that for students, an application is more than just a submission—it represents their future and is a major investment. Krystle has guided many students through evaluating factors such as school rankings, location, and cost to help them find their best fit. Students she has coached have been accepted to top law schools at USC, UChicago, Northwestern, Boston University, Columbia, NYU, Duke, UPenn, Vanderbilt, UT Austin, and Georgetown. She takes immense satisfaction in supporting students through this journey and celebrating their successes.

In her spare time, Krystle enjoys seeking adventure and volunteering with animal organizations. She managed to combine the two when she met her husband while volunteering at an animal shelter. They quickly bonded over their shared love of dogs and adrenaline-filled activities and jumped at the chance to go wing walking—standing on the wings of an in-flight plane before strapping in for aerial acrobatics—on their first real date. They now live in sunny Arizona with their beloved dog, Ginger.

Troy has a Bachelor’s degree in ethics, politics, and economics from Yale University and a JD from Harvard Law School. After graduating from Yale, Troy taught math and science in the Mississippi Delta with Teach for America. Afterward, they pursued their passion for supporting socioeconomic equality through summer positions at the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau while attending Harvard Law. At the same time, Troy kept up their interest in education by consulting for standardized test designers. 

With a wealth of experience in coaching and tutoring, Troy expertly guides students through every step of the application process. Having worked with hundreds of students, they are dedicated to cultivating individual growth and empowering each student to reach their full potential.

As a dedicated coach, Troy excels at guiding students through the intricate law school admissions process. They provide invaluable support in navigating its complexities and streamlining the process to alleviate student stress. Troy works closely with each student to help them present their best selves to top-tier law schools, ensuring they effectively highlight their unique strengths, experiences, and aspirations.

When Troy isn't coaching, they enjoy exploring their vast knowledge of coffee, cocktails, and Japanese denim. They also have a background in streaming on Twitch, where they were a speedrunner for the cult indie game Crypt of the Necrodancer. In addition, Troy is the proud owner of a tortoiseshell cat named Demerara.

Jesse graduated magna cum laude from Emory with a Bachelor's in business administration with dual concentrations in information systems and operations management and marketing and Chinese language and literature. During college, he served as a pre-college admissions advisor and resident advisor through the Emory University Pre-College Program.

During law school, Jesse also acted as an admissions representative for the USC Gould School of Law Diversity Committee, in addition to his role as Co-President. His commitment to law and technology at USC led the Legal Technology Association to a third-place finish at the 2020 Los Angeles Global Legal Hackathon, where they pitched an idea for a mental health app for practicing attorneys and law firms. He was also a USC Merit Scholarship recipient.

In 2020, he published a novel titled "Underdog" about his law school experience, as well as the experiences of classmates, professors, law school deans, and startup founders within the USC Gould legal community. Jesse has a strong track record of supporting students in their writing processes, having tutored both undergraduate and graduate students across various subjects. Currently, Jessee works as an attorney at a mid-sized, New York-based defense firm, practicing in general liability and medical malpractice.

As an admissions coach, Jesse excels at providing comprehensive strategies for the admissions process. He helps students craft persuasive narratives, optimally structure their arguments, and leverage their unique qualities to make an impression on top-tier law schools. He is committed to helping students reach their goals and become part of the nation's elite legal community. Having faced and overcome the challenges of applying to law school himself, he understands the stress and pressure students experience and works diligently to give them the best chance of success.

Beyond his professional pursuits, Jesse loves spicy foods and is a dedicated gym-goer. He enjoys exploring his new home in New York City and is always open to meeting prospective students for a cup of coffee.

Kevin earned his BA in French and political science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. After graduating from Duke, he briefly worked in the legal field and later worked as a headhunter for a top legal recruitment company. He then transitioned into the field of international higher education, where he discovered his true passion for helping students achieve their educational goals. Before returning to Raleigh, Kevin lived in Hong Kong for over a decade, where he helped local and international students with applications to undergraduate, law, LLM, Master's, MBA, and other graduate programs. 

As a former admissions officer, Kevin has recruited candidates and reviewed applications from hundreds of students worldwide, providing him with unique insights into the admissions process. Students he has worked with have successfully gained admission to top law schools including Harvard, Georgetown, Duke, Northwestern, UC Berkeley, UChicago, Columbia, NYU, UVA, Boston College, and others.

As a coach, Kevin prioritizes a collaborative and personalized method. Recognizing that each student possesses unique strengths and aspirations, he dedicates time to thoroughly understanding their individual profiles. By taking time to get to know each student, he is able to guide them toward crafting an authentic application that truly reflects their personal journey and academic potential. His goal is to empower students by highlighting their distinct qualities and experiences, ensuring their application stands out in the competitive admissions landscape.

With years of admissions experience, Kevin brings a seasoned perspective to the application process. His legal education has sharpened his instincts for identifying compelling narratives that resonate with admissions committees. He excels at guiding students through the brainstorming and essay refinement process, ensuring they present their authentic selves in a way that is both genuine and strategically impactful. In his free time, Kevin enjoys traveling, cooking, reading, and spending time with his partner and two dogs.

Mika earned her Bachelor’s degree in economics and psychology from Claremont McKenna College. After submitting a competitive application, she was offered acceptance to several prestigious law schools, including Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Michigan, the University of Virginia, Vanderbilt, and the University of Chicago. She ultimately chose to complete her JD at the University of Chicago.

As an admissions mentor, Mika employs the "TEACH" approach, emphasizing trust, empowerment, appreciation, communication, and humor to motivate and engage her clients. Her greatest strengths are narrative building and editing. As a former litigator with extensive writing experience and a passion for creative writing, Mika excels at helping students shape and articulate their personal stories with exceptional clarity. Additionally, her extensive legal experience provides unparalleled insight into how to strategically position students for long-term success.

In her free time, Mika loves to roller skate, dance, and play board games with friends. She is also a lifelong learner and is particularly interested in classical, medieval, and Victorian-era history. 

After graduating from UCSB with honors, Victoria gained considerable experience in the media and entertainment industry. While at USC, she served on the boards of the Entertainment Law Society, Music Law Society, and Black Law Students Association. Additionally, she gained practical experience within the entertainment industry working at Hello Sunshine, the Walt Disney Company, and Universal Music Group. Victoria is also an active volunteer at the non-profit organization California Lawyers for the Arts, which serves the creative arts community. 

Victoria has a passion for guiding prospective law students through the application process, stemming from her experience as the first in her family to attend law school. She understands the value of mentorship and its impact on a student's success, and she believes in the potential of every student to excel in the competitive world of law school admissions.

As a coach, Victoria excels at recognizing the unique qualities of each applicant. She has a knack for helping students express these qualities in their applications, allowing them to present their best selves to their dream schools. She excels at providing strategic guidance on the entire application process, from identifying optimal schools to crafting effective essays and building strong narratives. Victoria looks forward to offering her expertise and mentorship to students, guiding them as they fulfill their aspirations of pursuing legal careers. She aims to empower students to become the best versions of themselves and is excited about the possibilities each student brings to the table.

In her free time, Victoria indulges in her love of travel, music festivals, and exploring new culinary delights at different restaurants.

Ashley completed her undergraduate degree in English language and literature at Fairfield University in just three years, graduating summa cum laude with a perfect 4.0 GPA. She was the valedictorian of her class and earned the prestigious Bellarmine Medal, as well as recognition through the Magis Scholarship and Honors Program.

At Georgetown University Law Center, Ashley was named to the Pro Bono Honor Roll and served as a student ambassador. Since graduation, she has practiced as a construction litigation attorney. Ashley currently works as a seventh-year associate at Smith Currie Oles Law Firm, a top construction and government contracts firm. In addition to her impressive record, Ashley’s dedication and expertise in construction litigation have earned her quite a reputation, including being named among the "Ones to Watch" in Construction Litigation by Best Lawyers in America from 2022 to 2025.

With over 10 years of coaching experience, Ashley has been dedicated to supporting others academically, whether it be tutoring, editing papers, reviewing resumes, or helping with applications. She believes in the importance of helping individuals navigate challenging or uncharted territories. Recognizing the complexity of the law school application process, Ashley took on the role of a coach to become a reliable source of knowledge for applicants seeking answers, guidance, and support. Her goal is to empower future lawyers to succeed in finding a law school that aligns with their goals and values.

As a coach, Ashley's strengths include effective time management and helping students create schedules that are reasonable yet focused on achieving their goals. As an English major, she is also an excellent writer and editor. She expertly assists students in deconstructing essay topics, offering guidance on content selection and structuring, and refining their writing through thorough revisions. She ensures students can transform their initial drafts into polished pieces they are proud to put their names on.  

At NYU Law, André graduated magna cum from law school and was also awarded the Public Interest Scholarship. He also participated in the Family Defense Clinic and the Federal Defender Clinic, further shaping his dedication to public service and systems reform. Before entering private practice, André served as an assistant public defender, where he gained extensive trial and negotiation experience while representing clients in challenging circumstances. Earlier, he worked with community-based nonprofits, focusing on reforming systems that impact marginalized populations. These formative experiences gave him firsthand insight into the challenges and rewards of navigating competitive public interest pathways. Currently, André practices civil rights law in North Carolina, where he represents wrongfully convicted individuals, pursuing justice through civil rights suits against the law enforcement officers and municipalities responsible for their wrongful arrests, prosecutions, and convictions.

André brings years of advocacy, admissions, and mentorship experience to his role as a coach. Throughout his career, he has seen how mentorship, strong storytelling, and a clear sense of purpose can transform lives. These are the same qualities he brings to law school admissions coaching. His background as a litigator and civil rights lawyer has sharpened his skills in persuasive writing and strategic advocacy, which he now uses to guide students in uncovering their unique stories and presenting themselves authentically, beyond grades and test scores.

Originally from Belo Horizonte, Brazil, André is fluent in Portuguese and Spanish and proficient in Italian. In his free time, he enjoys reading speculative fiction, running, and thrifting for vintage clothing.

Hanna began her higher education journey by earning a BA in philosophy from the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities.  She graduated summa cum laude with highest honors, placing in the top 1% of her class, and maintaining Dean’s List standing every semester. She was also a member of the University of Minnesota Parliamentary Debate Team.

In addition to her role as Editor of the Journal of Law and Public Affairs at UPenn, Hanna was also a member of the Penn Business Law Association and a member of the Executive Board for the Federalist Society. She also earned a Wharton Business School certificate in business management. Hanna also brings real-world insight from her clerkship in complex commercial litigation, along with roles such as Head of Operations at Canovate Global.

Hanna specializes in crafting compelling personal statements, conducting interview prep, and guiding JD applicants through each stage—from course planning and extracurricular strategy to school targeting—tailoring her coaching to each student’s unique style and goals. With nearly 10 years of tutoring and mentorship experience and recognition among the top 10% of tutors by a nationwide tutoring platform, she has a finely honed, adaptive coaching approach. Students she has coached have been accepted to law schools at Georgetown, Villanova, UMiami, and others.

Passionate about empowering applicants, Hanna thrives on helping each student articulate their strengths and fit for law school. She has worked with 500+ students and has achieved success with students of all ages, backgrounds, and stages of the process. John earned a Bachelor of Science from Cornell University before completing his JD at Brooklyn Law School, graduating summa cum laude on a full-ride scholarship. Serving on Cornell's admissions and administrative committees has given him insider tips on what law schools look for in successful applicants, and he uses this knowledge to guide students through every step of the application process. His expertise has helped students gain acceptance to top law schools, such as Columbia, NYU, Cornell, Georgetown, UC Berkeley, Duke, and UVA.

A former corporate attorney and retired member of both the New York and New Jersey State Bars, John's passion for counseling is evident in his dedication to providing personalized advice and support to each student. He enjoys drawing upon his considerable experience to guide students through the various aspects of the law school application process, including school selection, pre-law coursework and resume building, essay drafting, and interview preparation. His commitment to helping students succeed extends beyond the application process, as he continues to offer guidance and support throughout their law school journey.

One of John's key strengths is his ability to analyze and interpret law school statistical data as reported by law schools to the American Bar Association, US News & World Report, and other media outlets. This expertise enables him to provide students with knowledge of the competitive landscape of law school admissions and to help them identify schools that best align with their goals and qualifications.

When he's not advising students, John enjoys spending time outdoors, hiking, and gardening in the beautiful Finger Lakes Region of New York State, where he lives with his wife, Jennifer, and their dog, Enzo.

Toni is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Binghamton University, where she received the Claudia Bernardo Award for Excellence in the Humanities and the Cecil Bacheller Award for Excellence in the Romance Languages, graduating with highest honors in Spanish. At Duke University School of Law, Toni graduated with honors, received the Bidlake Award for Excellence in Legal Writing, and was a member of the editorial board of Law and Contemporary Problems. Following law school, Toni worked as an associate at the Washington, D.C.-based law firm Crowell & Moring, where she specialized in commercial and appellate litigation. After about six years of practice, she entered the world of legal academia.

As the daughter of teachers, Toni was always an educator at heart. She has taught and lectured throughout the United States and in more than 20 countries around the world, including Argentina, Brazil, China, Egypt, Germany, Italy, Japan, Vietnam, and others. She has been a frequent speaker to delegations as part of the U.S. State Department International Visitor Program. She is a recipient of the Fordham Law School Dean's Medal of Recognition for outstanding service, impact, and commitment, the highest honor the Dean can award. She also received the New York State Bar Association International Section 2025 Distinction in International Law and Affairs Award and is on the International Advisory Board of the CEU Universities (Spain).

Toni is the author of numerous articles on a wide range of topics and several books, including Next Gen Law Firm Management, Becoming a Lawyer: Discovering and Defining Your Professional Persona, The U.S. Legal System: The Basics, and American Legal Systems: A Research and Reference Guide. She is currently a Senior Counselor at Fordham University and the Principal of Jaeger-Fine Consulting, which provides services to attorneys, law firms, and other organizations on professional identity and law firm management. 

Toni has spent nearly her entire career working at law schools and is intimately familiar with the admissions and enrollment processes. She takes special pride in the accomplishments of the literally hundreds of JD, LLM, and SJD students she has mentored. She genuinely enjoys helping students better understand their interests, strengths, and motivations and supporting them to find a path to meet their goals. Toni is an excellent listener and thrives on getting to know the people she advises, ensuring that her guidance is aligned with their interests and aspirations.

A fun fact about Toni is that she enjoys traveling in her free time and is a fitness enthusiast. She especially loves climbing and fitness boxing, and she and her wife are proud parents to a mini Goldendoodle. She also completed the CrossFit Open competition in her late 50s, an accomplishment of which she is genuinely proud.

During college, Solange received the Blue Chip Award and Eileen & James Rullo Scholarship. She served as a member of the Boston University Admissions Ambassadors Program, the Black Student Union, and the Admissions Student Diversity Board. Solange's professional experience includes internships at Fried, Frank, Harris, Shriver & Jacobson LLP and Simpson Thacher & Bartlett LLP, where she was selected as a Conrad Harper Fellow. Before starting law school, she was named an SEO Law Fellow. 

At Duke Law, Solange served as a student representative on the DEI Committee and was an active member of the Mock Trial and Moot Court Boards. As Director of Finance for Duke Law's Black Law Students Association, she coordinated and hosted a webinar in collaboration with Duke Law's Admissions Office, giving prospective students and applicants direct insight into the admissions process along with feedback on their application materials. Solange was named a Minority Corporate Counsel Association (MCCA) Lloyd M. Johnson, Jr. Scholarship recipient, and she received the Outstanding Attorney Award at Duke Law's Twiggs-Beskind Mock Trial Competition. She also completed coursework at Duke's Children's Law Clinic and Start-Up Ventures Clinic.

Solange worked at a DEI consulting firm, where she contributed to a program offering guidance to non-traditional and underrepresented students navigating the law school admissions process. She has also participated in several pre-law mentorship initiatives, including the Assist & Lift and EmpowerHer mentorship programs. Across these experiences, Solange has worked directly with students on their law school admissions journeys, offering advice, feedback, and hands-on review of their application materials.

As a coach, Solange's goal is to help each applicant submit a polished application that highlights their unique strengths and reflects their authentic professional self. Drawing on her firsthand experience with both admissions committees and diverse applicant populations, she is passionate about supporting all applicants, including non-traditional and underrepresented candidates, as they navigate the law school admissions process with clarity and confidence.

Outside of consulting, Solange enjoys trying out new recipes, getting lost in a good book, and listening to no-skip albums from start to finish in her free time. A fun fact about her is that she’s never broken a bone (and she hopes it stays that way)!

Prior to law school, Amir was elected as an Associated Students of the University of California Senator, served as a Student Chair of advisory committees to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs and to the Associate Vice Chancellor of Financial Aid and Scholarships, and sat on advisory committees to the Chancellor and to the Mayor of Berkeley. He traveled to Sacramento as a student delegate, lobbying the state legislature to fund the ten University of California campuses, and was appointed to the City of Berkeley's Housing Advisory Commission, where he worked on funding strategies for housing low-income and homeless students. He also served as Chapter President of the Collegiate 100, an organization that extends the mission of the 100 Black Men of America to support the development of Black college students. Upon graduating from UC Berkeley, Amir received the Kenneth Priestley Award, given annually to a single graduating senior for outstanding leadership and contribution to student welfare. 

At Stanford Law, Amir selected the topic, authors, and panelists for the Stanford Law Review's Volume 75 Symposium, Access to Justice. He served as External Vice President of the Black Law Students Association, was a Voter Protection Partner with the Young Black Lawyers' Organizing Coalition, and represented low-income clients in housing, social security disability, and criminal record expungement matters as a member of Stanford's Community Law Clinic. He authored congressional redistricting plans for Arizona and New Jersey through the Stanford Redistricting Project, a Law and Policy Lab initiative that produces nonpartisan, legally defensible maps for all 435 U.S. House districts. 

After graduating, Amir clerked for a federal judge on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Ohio, then joined the Harris presidential campaign on the national voter protection team at campaign headquarters, where he worked through the 2024 election. He now practices at Willkie Farr & Gallagher in Washington, D.C., where his work involves investigations, SEC enforcement matters, and regulatory compliance counseling. His broader career interests center on housing accessibility, voting and civil rights, and federal policy.

Amir's own legal education was funded in part by competitive scholarships—a two-time Charles Houston Bar Association Scholarship recipient, an Arnold & Porter Diversity and Inclusion Scholarship recipient, and more than a dozen others, all decided on written applications. Having been on both sides of a selection process, he has a practical sense of what committees are actually reading for and brings that perspective to his coaching, helping applicants present their experiences, clarify their goals, and craft written materials that hold up under scrutiny.

Amir has spent nearly a decade mentoring students and applicants. As an undergraduate, he met weekly with a student at a Berkeley middle school for three years. During law school, he co-led a mentoring circle of pre-law students through Bridge Builders Esquire, a national program for aspiring Black lawyers that pairs law students and attorneys with applicants navigating the admissions process, and was awarded its Mentorship Excellence Medal for that work. He has since mentored students through Stanford’s Ernest Houston Johnson Scholars Program and Oakland's Greenlining Institute.

Amir’s passion for coaching stems from his own experience working with mentors. At every stage of his admission process, there was someone a few steps ahead who turned around to help, and now he’s determined to pay that forward. He is also a strong believer in taking breaks to keep the process as stress-free as possible, whether that’s going for a walk, putting a draft down for a few days, or simply reminding applicants that the world is not going to implode over any single decision they make this cycle. The applicants who fare best, in his view, are usually the ones who are still thinking clearly months in, and protecting that clarity is most of the battle.

Outside of coaching, Amir can be found on a bike, playing golf, scuba diving, planning his next trip, tinkering with his PC, or pursuing his private pilot's license. He is also a proud member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.

Prior to law school, Clifford earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from Morehouse College, graduating magna cum laude and as the Ranking Scholar in his graduating class. He also played on the Morehouse football team as wide receiver. He then spent a year as an The Congress-Bundestag Youth Exchange for Young Professionals international fellow at the University of Münster in Germany, where he studied politics and law while working in sports journalism. 

Clifford went on to get accepted by most T-14 law schools before ultimately deciding to attend Stanford Law School. In addition to serving as the BLSA Co-President and reviewing applicants and interviewing candidates as an admissions committee member, Clifford was a participant in the Kirkwood Moot Court competition and an advocate in the law school’s Religious Liberties Clinic.

Clifford has spent over a decade practicing law as a trial lawyer and a white-collar defense attorney in California and New York. He began his career as an associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where he practiced for two years before clerking for a federal district court judge in the U.S. District Court for the Central District of California. Following his clerkship, Clifford joined Covington & Burling LLP in Los Angeles as an associate. He went on to serve as an assistant United States Attorney in the U.S. Attorney's Office for the Central District of California, where he currently works.

Within the past decade, Clifford has helped dozens of students gain acceptance into several top law schools. He leverages his deep familiarity with the admissions process, his close relationships to legal professional and law school admissions experts, and his calm and cordial demeanor to help students along their admissions journey. Clifford's coaching approach centers on providing a space for applicants to learn, grow, and share their personal lived experiences in order to craft the most compelling application possible. 

Clifford provides careful comments, edits, and feedback on personal statements and resumes, advises applicants on which recommenders to choose, and is comfortable serving as a sounding board and accountability partner for students. Clifford’s coaching relies on some of the same advice and insight he received in his own path to becoming a lawyer and he hopes to demystify the law school admissions process while motivating the next generation of lawyers to find a perfect match.

In his free time, Clifford enjoys spending time outdoors and playing sports. He also likes reading, writing poetry, cooking, playing video games, and making custom handmade pottery. 

Prior to law school, Adedolapo spent three years at Capital One. There, Adedolapo managed $14 million across more than 8,000 associates. At the University of Southern California, Adedolapo served as a certified student attorney in the Post-Conviction Justice Project (PCJP) clinic. Adedolapo also served as a research assistant at USC, editing legal scholarship on criminal justice, restoration, and community building. With a passion for solving complex problems, Adedolapo has built a diverse professional background, from working at a startup navigating controlled-substance regulation to federal campaign finance compliance to consulting for small businesses and creatives. The common thread amongst all of these pursuits is working in environments where the rules are complicated and the right path is rarely obvious. Adedolapo carries that same analytical and strategic mindset into the law school admissions process and helps applicants navigate each stage with clarity and confidence. 

Adedolapo’s interest in supporting students started early and has taken many forms. As a peer advisor during law school, Adedolapo guided first-year students through the transition from undergraduate studies to law school, helping them manage their workloads, understand exam formats, and navigate the unspoken norms that no one explains during orientation. That experience later led to formal bar exam tutoring sessions. Adedolapo is dedicated to supporting students throughout the legal education pipeline, from law school through full licensure and practice. Together, these experiences have strengthened Adedolapo’s ability to help students create highly individualized, targeted plans to succeed under pressure.

As an admissions coach, Adedolapo brings a personalized and collaborative approach to each session. By working closely with each applicant, Adedolapo identifies their goals, strengths, and areas for improvement before building the best strategy for them. Adedolapo is skilled at guiding applicants through every part of the application process, including writing compelling personal statements, preparing for interviews, navigating waitlists, and applying for and negotiating scholarships. Adedolapo aims to create thoughtful, effective application plans that reflect each applicant’s unique story and ambitions.

At Swarthmore College, Alexandra served as an admissions fellow and an alumni interviewer, which gave her insight into the key ingredients of a successful interview. She joined Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP as a litigation paralegal after graduating, supporting cases up through trial on topics including securities, employment, insurance fraud, and landlord-tenant disputes. 

At Stanford, Alexandra won several prizes for her legal writing and oral advocacy, served as a research assistant for professors working on gender justice and criminal appeals, and participated in the Supreme Court Litigation Clinic. She also served as the Editor-in-Chief of the Stanford Journal of Civil Rights and Civil Liberties and as an editor for the Stanford Law Review. Alexandra was also Vice President of the Kirkwood Moot Court Board. She also demonstrated leadership and commitment to advocacy through her work as Co-President of Stanford Law’s If/When/How organization and SLS GiVe (Stanford Law Students Against Gendered Violence).

Alexandra returned to Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP after earning her JD, where she worked as a litigation associate. She went on to work as a judicial law clerk for the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of New York and the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit before transitioning to work at the Center for Reproductive Rights.

Alexandra's background and network enable her to support applicants with diverse interests and aspirations for law school and beyond. Her coaching style is flexible, adapting to each student’s communication preferences. Alexandra works with a small number of students so she can really get to know them and their goals—her philosophy for law school applications is that personal fit is an underrated component in choosing a law school.

Alexandra has benefited from several thoughtful mentors as she navigated the law school admissions process, sparking a commitment in her to provide the same support to future applicants. She has mentored several current T-14 law school attendees and looks forward to helping more students gain admission to their dream law schools. 

A fun fact about Alexandra is that she spent six years in East Asia, between Singapore and China.

Throughout law school, Troi pursued opportunities across a range of legal settings. She began her legal career as an SEO Law Fellow at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP, where she gained early exposure to corporate law at one of the country's largest firms. She also worked with the U.S. Department of State Office of the Legal Adviser, clerked with Orleans Public Defenders, and worked on international human rights matters through Northwestern’s Bluhm Legal Clinic. She also held several student leadership positions, including serving as President of Northwestern’s Disability Law Society.

Troi's experience spans private practice, federal government, public defense, and international human rights, a breadth that gives her a clear understanding of how different legal career paths unfold. Having successfully navigated the law school admissions process herself, Troi understands that a strong application is about more than credentials. Her approach to coaching centers on helping applicants understand the entire narrative their application conveys, from their LSAT score and school-selection strategy to resumes, recommendations, and personal statements. She is particularly skilled at helping students identify the experiences and qualities that distinguish them and translating those strengths into a cohesive, authentic application.

Troi’s greatest strengths are her writing and editing skills, strategic thinking, and ability to make unfamiliar concepts approachable. She believes effective advising should never be one-size-fits-all and works to understand each student’s goals, background, and priorities before developing a personalized strategy. She pairs candid advice with encouragement and practical next steps, helping students approach the admissions process with greater confidence and clarity.

In her free time, Troi enjoys exploring Chicago's neighborhoods and restaurants, reading classic literature, cooking, and spending what she describes as entirely too much time analyzing movies and television. Troi is also a classically trained jazz vocalist and former pianist.

A native of Mobile, Alabama, Dr. Pettaway’s higher education journey started after graduating as valedictorian of her high school and receiving a full scholarship to attend Alabama Agricultural & Mechanical University (Alabama A&M University). Dr. Pettaway earned a BS in business administration, graduating summa cum laude and with the highest academic average in her major. She later earned a dual JD and Master of Public Administration from Southern University Law Center and Southern University and A&M College on a scholarship. At Auburn University, she earned a Master of Education in administration of higher education, a graduate certificate in college and university teaching, and a PhD in administration of higher education with a 4.0 GPA. Her dissertation, “To Comply or Not To Comply? That Is Not The Question: A Multi-Content Analysis of Title IX Policies at Historically Black Land Grant Universities” examined Title IX policy compliance across three historically Black universities. She is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority.

Dr. Pettaway currently offers pre-law courses in the Department of Political Science and Criminal Justice at the University of South Alabama, where she formerly served as the University Pre-Law Advisor. In this role, Dr. Pettaway’s passion for molding future legal professionals reached far beyond the classroom. She introduced a number of first-time initiatives, including “Ask an Advisor: The Pre-Law Edition” Series, “Lunch and Learn: The Pre-Law Edition” Education & Awareness Event Series, and “Virtual Talk About It Tuesday” Pre-Law Event Series. She facilitated the creation of standing committees, including Community Involvement, Fundraising, and Women In Pre-Law (WIPL), and steps to coordinate a free online mock LSAT for pre-law students. She also incorporated the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator into advising conversations to help students reflect on potential legal pathways.

Dr. Pettaway has served in several other leadership roles, including Associate Dean for Student Rights and Responsibilities at the University of West Florida, Director of Title IX Compliance and Title IX Coordinator at the University of Arkansas, Contracts Manager & Policy Coordinator/Deputy Title IX Coordinator in the Office of General Counsel at Columbus State University, where she also held a part-time graduate faculty appointment in the Department of Teaching, Leadership, and Counseling, having taught higher education law and ethics, as well as a perspectives course, Auburn University, and the Legal Division of the Alabama Department of Human Resources. 

Dr. Pettaway currently serves as an Editor for the Open Access Journal of Criminology Investigation & Justice, a member of the Journal of Education and Training Studies’ Editorial Board, and a member of the International Journal of Law and Public Administration’s Editorial Review Board. She has been recognized by Mobile Bay Magazine as a 2025 40 Under 40 honoree and received the 2024 Dr. Glenn Sebastian Faculty Member of the Year Award from the University of South Alabama Student Government Association.

As an admissions coach, Dr. Pettaway has turned her own educational journey into a source of inspiration for others and uses her experience as a faculty member to inform her approach. Her classroom blends the rigor of law school with mentorship and care, ensuring students are confident, well-prepared, and supported as they take their first steps toward a legal career. Fundamental to Dr. Pettaway's teaching philosophy is leading students to visualize themselves as legal professionals before they ever set foot on a law school campus. By integrating the rigor and structure of the law school curriculum, her classes capture the very essence of what “pre-law” means.

Dr. Pettaway’s unwavering support and profound care for students leave a lasting impact on their academic and professional journeys. Her efforts and passion encourage students to grow and succeed, leading to confident future legal professionals. She has mentored students accepted to law schools across Alabama, California, Florida, Georgia, Illinois, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, Texas, and beyond. 

Outside of her academic and professional work, Dr. Pettaway is a self-proclaimed “lover of all things extra.” She enjoys channeling her creativity into fashion and design, including designing her own clothing and home decor.

Before attending law school, Marisa also earned a BA in public policy and philosophy from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. There, she served as an intern at the UNC Ethics and Policy Office and as a resident advisor. During law school, Marisa demonstrated a strong commitment to service through extensive pro bono work. She served as the Wills Pro Bono Project Co-Chair for two years, helping coordinate efforts to provide estate planning services to underserved communities. She also participated in the Medical-Legal Partnership Clinic, where she worked on matters at the intersection of healthcare and law, and the Trade and Development Clinic, where she gained experience addressing complex global and economic issues. These experiences strengthened her ability to connect with clients, think critically, and approach problems with both empathy and strategy.

Marisa’s mentoring experience began during law school, when peers frequently turned to her for support refining resumes, strengthening written materials, and developing thoughtful application strategies. As an admissions coach, she brings a sharp editorial eye and a strategy-driven approach to helping applicants identify the strongest elements of their background. She is especially skilled at transforming rough ideas into standout law school applications. 

Marisa provides direct, actionable feedback while creating a supportive and encouraging coaching environment. She helps applicants strengthen positioning, refine essays and resumes, identify gaps in messaging, and build confidence throughout the admissions process. Whether brainstorming essay topics or fine-tuning final drafts, she focuses on helping applicants present a polished application that reflects their goals, experiences, and potential.

Marisa is passionate about coaching because she understands how overwhelming and competitive the law school admissions process can feel. Her background as an attorney and legal writer allows her to help applicants approach the process with precision, clarity, and purpose. Outside of coaching, she enjoys staying active, exploring new places, making pottery on a wheel, volunteering at a wildlife rehab center, and spending time with her dog.

Nicholas is a lawyer with experience in corporate law, strategic litigation, and legal policy. He began his career in the policy and governance space, building strong research, drafting, and analytical skills that continue to shape his practice. He litigated landmark public interest cases before Ghana’s Supreme Court. He later served as an associate at a leading corporate law firm, advising clients including Citibank and BP on cross-border transactions and regulatory compliance.

While studying at Duke University, Nick was involved in various student organizations and clinics, including serving as the LLM Representative with the Black Law Students Association and as a student attorney with the Criminal Law Expunctions Clinic. He received Duke Law’s LLM Award for Leadership and Community Participation in recognition of his leadership and community-building efforts. He also worked as a research associate at Duke University’s Bolch Judicial Institute. After Duke, he worked with Common Cause in Washington, DC., where he supported the redistricting and representation policy team to develop strategies and arguments to address issues arising in redistricting and voting rights in the U.S. Nick’s involvement with Common Cause was the result of garnering the highly competitive Duke Law Farrin Fellowship, making him the first international student in the fellowship’s history to receive this award.

Additionally, Nick contributed to governance reform efforts as a Constitutional Researcher for the Government of Ghana’s Constitution Review Committee, helping draft the committee’s final report, recommending amendments to Ghana’s 1992 Constitution and broader governance reforms. He has also consulted for multilateral and civil society organizations, including UNDP and International IDEA.

Nick brings valuable admissions insight from his experience as an application reader and reviewer at Duke University School of Law. He has mentored aspiring lawyers and guided students through the law school admissions process, helping applicants gain admission to top U.S. law schools, including Duke University School of Law, UC Berkeley School of Law, Georgetown University School of Law, and Cornell Law School.

As a first-generation lawyer, Nick is passionate about helping students navigate law school admissions and develop the skills needed to thrive in the legal profession. His mentoring focuses on helping applicants craft compelling personal narratives, clarify career goals, and present their experiences effectively throughout the application process.

Outside of his professional work, Nicholas enjoys swimming, watching college basketball, and hosting friends. His writing has been published by International IDEA, the African Network of Constitutional Lawyers, and Business & Financial Times.

While studying at Spelman College, Ebonei interned with the Georgia Legislative Black Caucus and served as a legislative aide for four legislative sessions. Ebonei also spent time as a summer associate in the Trials Division of the Office of the Fulton County District Attorney. She also volunteered with Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and various other civic organizations.

During law school, Ebonei served as President of the Black Law Students Association and also participated in several civil rights pro bono projects. She also interned in Washington, D.C., for Meta and clerked for the Charlottesville Circuit Court in Charlottesville, Virginia. She has worked as an associate attorney for Thomas Kennedy Sampson & Tompkins for over five years and has been recognized by Super Lawyers as a Rising Star. She was also recognized by the National Black Lawyers Top 40 Under 40.

Ebonei is passionate about mentoring prospective law students and helping them achieve their dreams. Her greatest strengths are her optimism and encouraging, collaborative coaching style. She has a proven track record of successfully mentoring a diverse spectrum of applicants, including underrepresented, first-generation, and non-traditional applicants, as well as reapplicants. She has mentored applicants who have matriculated at law schools at the University of Georgia, Georgia State University, and Howard University.

Ebonei is a native of Augusta, Georgia. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, making ceramics, and serving on several boards.

Ray is licensed to practice law in Texas, Maryland, Illinois, and the District of Columbia and is certified in five International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP) designations and certifications. He also earned an executive education certificate from the University of California, Berkeley School of Law, and has held prestigious advisory roles, including with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the USPTO. He has over 20 years of experience spanning government, corporate, academia, and private practice. 

Most recently, Ray served as Vice President, Chief Privacy Officer, Associate General Counsel, and Corporate Secretary at Strada Education Foundation, Inc. Previously, Ray served as Director and Senior Counsel at Walmart Inc., where he advised on data privacy & emerging technologies, including AI and biometrics. He also had various roles & responsibilities at IBM Corporation, including general lawyer, Chief Procurement Privacy Officer, and Head of Legal Academia for the Global University Programs. He also completed a two-year assignment at the Watson IoT Global Headquarters in Munich, Germany. Ray has also served as an assistant adjunct professor and supervising attorney at the Howard University School of Law. In addition to his work in founding the Trademark Clinic, he also lectured on international trademark law during the summer program at the University of Western Cape in Cape Town, South Africa. While on international assignment in Europe, he served as an adjunct professor for information privacy law for George Washington University Law School’s summer program at the Munich Intellectual Property Law Center.

Ray also served on various advisory boards and committees. Currently, he is a member of the Technology Law & Policy Center at North Carolina Central University School of Law, as well as the Center for Cybersecurity & Privacy Protection at Cleveland State University College of Law. Ray is also an IAPP, ABA & Texas Board Certified Privacy Law Specialist (PLS).

As a counselor, Ray brings unmatched depth in law and education, supporting students with admissions strategy, essay review, and interview preparation. He has evaluated and interviewed approximately 200 applicants in a decision-making role at the Howard University School of Law and has guided students through the admissions process into schools across the country. Ray is passionate about helping future legal professionals thrive and enjoys leveraging his broad legal insight and educational expertise to empower students. He remains actively engaged in the field through thought leadership, coaching, and service to legal education.

Maria completed a Bachelor’s degree in sociology and international studies with a minor in Spanish from Johns Hopkins University. Throughout her higher education journey, Maria has received numerous honors, including departmental honors in both majors, the Bloomberg Scholarship, the James Coleman Sociology Award, the Dean Fellowship, the MCCA–Microsoft Scholar designation, and the Dean’s Undergraduate Research Award. During undergrad, she was involved with Sigma Iota Rho, Alpha Kappa Delta, the African Students Association, and the Incentive Mentoring Program. During law school, she served as Director of the James Patterson McBaine Honors Competition and Recruitment Chair for Law Students of African Descent and was a member of the Berkeley Journal of African-American Law & Policy.

Maria began her legal career at Covington & Burling and Latham & Watkins, top-tier law firms in Washington, D.C., where she advised global technology companies on fintech, cloud, and emerging technology transactions, including AI-enabled products and data-driven platforms. She later served as Assistant General Counsel at a private equity firm, leading legal strategy across M&A, intellectual property, and commercial contracting for multiple portfolio companies operating nationally and internationally. She is the Founder of VM Consulting Group, a legal advisory firm supporting small businesses, startups, investors, and technology-driven companies navigating intellectual property, regulatory compliance, and complex technology transactions.

Maria has also advised African governments and startups on electronic payments regulation, cross-border compliance, and crisis-response initiatives, and has conducted research for international institutions on governance and human rights. She has contributed to the Nigeria Startup Act, spoken at international conferences on African fintech and innovation, and regularly publishes thought leadership on venture capital and startup strategy in Africa. She has authored and co-authored legal and policy-focused thought leadership on technology, data, and innovation, with particular emphasis on fintech, emerging technologies, and Africa-focused business ecosystems in Lexology. 

As a counselor, Maria draws from a deep background in legal practice and public policy. Maria is deeply committed to mentorship and supporting students in building impactful, globally oriented legal careers. She draws on her mentorship and admissions experience to help students craft compelling law school application narratives.

Outside of law and business, Maria is interested in fashion and photography. She is also trilingual; she speaks English, Spanish, and French.

At Cardozo Law, Lori reviewed and evaluated law school applications, coordinated admissions decisions, and counseled prospective and admitted students on program requirements, financial aid, and enrollment logistics. This experience gave her a fundamental understanding of how applications are read and what admissions committees value when making decisions. After working in admissions, Lori transitioned into educational mentorship and nonprofit program leadership, where she discovered her passion for one-on-one student guidance. Currently, Lori serves as a mentor with an Atlanta educational nonprofit, working closely with first-generation college-bound students. In this role, she provides individualized advising on college and scholarship applications, essay development, financial aid forms, and application timelines.

As an advisor, Lori is known for her calm, structured, and student-centered approach. She excels at helping students organize complex application processes, refine their personal narratives, and articulate their goals with authenticity and purpose. Her strong foundation in writing and storytelling, paired with her legal training, shapes her practical and clear approach to advising students. Drawing on her admissions background and legal training, Lori helps students develop essays and applications that are both compelling and strategic, while building the confidence needed to navigate competitive academic admissions. 

Outside of advising, Lori enjoys reading, testing her knowledge at trivia, solving crosswords, playing Mahjong, rooting for the Texas Longhorns and taking her miniature schnauzer, Shelby, for long walks.

While pursuing a JD at UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), Gabriel received the Prosser Award for earning the second-highest exam grade in Techniques of Financial Analysis. He also served as Executive Editor of the Berkeley Business Law Journal, and competed as an oral advocate in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with an LLM in taxation as a Graduate Tax Scholar, also earning Dean’s List recognition. 

An experienced attorney, strategist, and mentor with over two decades of experience across elite legal, business, and public-sector environments, Gabriel has practiced at Jones Day, served as an attorney advisor to a judge of the United States Tax Court, and held senior legal roles at a Fortune 100 company. He has also served in a senior counsel role at Gorden & Rees, and in the in-house legal department at Abbott Laboratories. Gabriel has founded two law firms, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, finance, and complex transactions. He is the Co-Founder of Architech Ventures, Inc., a company that innovates, underwrites, and controls an array of digital assets.

Recognized for his analytical rigor and writing ability, Gabriel has received national recognition for his scholarship, including runner-up honors in the Theodore Tannenwald, Jr. Tax Writing Competition, and has been published in professional outlets. These experiences inform his ability to evaluate applications critically and help candidates present clear, persuasive narratives.

As an admissions counselor, Gabriel excels at identifying each applicant’s authentic story and shaping it into a cohesive, compelling application. His coaching style is structured, collaborative, and candid, combining strategic insight with meticulous feedback on personal statements, resumes, and application materials. He is especially passionate about working with non-traditional applicants and career changers. Having benefited from exceptional mentors throughout his own journey, Gabriel is committed to demystifying the law school admissions process and helping applicants approach it with confidence and purpose.

Outside of coaching and legal practice, Gabriel enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and remaining active in civic and leadership organizations. He is a proud Eagle Scout and lifelong learner who values discipline, service, and intellectual curiosity.

Before law school, Kaci earned a Bachelor of Science in business administration from the University of Central Florida, where she graduated cum laude and was inducted into the National Honor Society. In law school, she earned an 80% merit scholarship and held several leadership roles. 

As Assistant Dean at Barry University School of Law, Kaci has a deep understanding of what law schools seek in candidates, having reviewed and supported countless applications with a keen eye for detail and strategy. At Barry, she advised students from orientation through graduation, helping them navigate the challenges of coursework, internships, and professional development. Her mentorship extended beyond the classroom, ensuring that students had the tools, confidence, and resilience to succeed in law school and beyond.

Kaci’s commitment to student success continued through the bar exam process, where she provided individualized guidance and encouragement to graduates preparing for one of the most demanding milestones in their legal careers. At Stetson University College of Law, she teaches Florida Bar Exam courses, advising students on substantive legal issues and collaborating with faculty to strengthen the curriculum. Across these roles, she has consistently supported students in bridging the gap between classroom learning and professional achievement.

As a counselor, Kaci draws on her deep understanding of admissions strategy, legal education, and bar preparation. Garry currently serves as the Founding Managing Partner of Propitious Principals, GP—a next-generation think tank that develops model legislation and white papers on everything from housing finance to AI governance for political entities and tribal governments. This venture builds on his 13-year tenure as Managing Partner of the Grundy Law Firm, PLLC, where he successfully litigated high-stakes civil and criminal matters.
