While at the University of Pittsburgh, Alyssa earned the Pitt Alumni Association Outstanding Senior Award and held leadership roles in several campus organizations, including Director of Recruitment for Pitt Dance Marathon and Vice President of External Affairs for the Blue and Gold Society. She also conducted research through the Inside-Out Prison Exchange Program and was a member of Phi Alpha Delta. She also earned a certificate in public and professional writing.
At George Mason Law, Alyssa served as Executive Editor of the George Mason Civil Rights Law Journal, where she published her own comment, “Oral Victim Impact Statements in Capital Punishment Sentencing are a Payne.” Alyssa deepened her passion for mentorship as a student ambassador for the admissions department and as an executive board member of the George Mason Mentor Program. She attended LSAC events, answered questions about applications and scholarships, and built meaningful relationships with the students she supported. She was also Vice President of the Criminal Law Society, participated in the Trial Advocacy Association, and held a board position with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Society as well.
Alyssa has built her career around a commitment to helping others and creating meaningful change. She began in private practice, focusing on family law and criminal defense, and later gained experience in military records corrections, criminal appeals, and subrogation law. She has also served in public sector roles at the House of Representatives, a government agency in the District of Columbia, a state district attorney’s office, and the Department of Justice.
As an admissions coach, Alyssa draws upon her extensive hands-on experience and passion for mentorship to support aspiring lawyers as they pursue their own dreams. She is known for her ability to help students showcase their individuality and overcome challenges with confidence. As a published legal scholar and admissions ambassador, she brings both strategic insight and personal support to every step of the application journey. She understands how to tell a compelling story that resonates with admissions committees and draws from both her legal background and deep commitment to student success. Her students value her warmth, attention to detail, and ability to make the process feel less overwhelming.
In her free time, Alyssa enjoys biking, traveling, and fundraising for disability advocacy. Each year, she rallies her family to ride from Washington, D.C., to Dewey Beach, Delaware, for a cause close to her heart. Her next personal milestone is completing a triathlon.
