While pursuing a JD at UC Berkeley School of Law (Boalt Hall), Gabriel received the Prosser Award for earning the second-highest exam grade in Techniques of Financial Analysis. He also served as Executive Editor of the Berkeley Business Law Journal, and competed as an oral advocate in the Jessup International Moot Court Competition. He graduated from Georgetown University Law Center with an LLM in taxation as a Graduate Tax Scholar, also earning Dean’s List recognition.
An experienced attorney, strategist, and mentor with over two decades of experience across elite legal, business, and public-sector environments, Gabriel has practiced at Jones Day, served as an attorney advisor to a judge of the United States Tax Court, and held senior legal roles at a Fortune 100 company. He has also served in a senior counsel role at Gorden & Rees, and in the in-house legal department at Abbott Laboratories. Gabriel has founded two law firms, advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, finance, and complex transactions. He is the Co-Founder of Architech Ventures, Inc., a company that innovates, underwrites, and controls an array of digital assets.
Recognized for his analytical rigor and writing ability, Gabriel has received national recognition for his scholarship, including runner-up honors in the Theodore Tannenwald, Jr. Tax Writing Competition, and has been published in professional outlets. These experiences inform his ability to evaluate applications critically and help candidates present clear, persuasive narratives.
As an admissions counselor, Gabriel excels at identifying each applicant’s authentic story and shaping it into a cohesive, compelling application. His coaching style is structured, collaborative, and candid, combining strategic insight with meticulous feedback on personal statements, resumes, and application materials. He is especially passionate about working with non-traditional applicants and career changers. Having benefited from exceptional mentors throughout his own journey, Gabriel is committed to demystifying the law school admissions process and helping applicants approach it with confidence and purpose.
Outside of coaching and legal practice, Gabriel enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, and remaining active in civic and leadership organizations. He is a proud Eagle Scout and lifelong learner who values discipline, service, and intellectual curiosity.
