Admissions committees read hundreds of personal statements, and most of them start to sound the same. Join us on Thursday, October 15, at 8pm ET (5pm PT) for a 45-minute live workshop with Cassandra Sturman, a Cornell Law School graduate, former admissions officer and Juris Education consultant.
Cassandra will walk through real-style personal statement excerpts the way an admissions reader would. She’ll show you what makes one essay move forward while another blends into the stack. Then she’ll coach you through rewriting your own sentences live.

By the time a committee reaches your personal statement, they already know your numbers. What they don’t know yet is you. Your statement is your one chance to speak directly to the people deciding on your application, and it’s the part of your file you have the most control over. A strong one gives the reader a reason to root for you. A generic one makes it easy to move on to the next file. You’ll leave with a proven method for revising any part of your essay: start with a real moment, show what you did, and connect it to why you’re choosing law.
Don’t miss this chance to see your essay the way an admissions committee does. Register now!

Cassandra Sturman knows what admissions committees notice, and she has spent more than five years helping applicants give them something worth remembering.
Before earning her J.D. from Cornell Law School, Cassandra graduated from Sarah Lawrence College, where she served as an admissions officer, reviewing applications and interviewing candidates. She went on to complete a thesis at the University of Oxford, Wadham College. At Cornell Law, she competed in moot court and helped lead the First-Generation Student Association. She also served as a judicial intern for the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Ohio.
As a first-generation law student, Cassandra knows how daunting the process can be, and she builds every student a personalized plan with a clear goal for each session. Students she has coached have been admitted to top law schools, including the University of Pennsylvania, UCLA and Case Western Reserve University.
