Zaynab Abu Bakr, a Private LSAT Tutor at Juris Education

Prior to matriculating at Columbia Law School, Zaynab graduated from Amherst College with a BA in biology. She received a full-tuition scholarship to Columbia Law as a Bridge to Opportunity Scholar, 1 of up to 10 recipients selected per entering class. Zaynab scored a 176 on the LSAT and, with seven years of tutoring experience, she’s helped students achieve LSAT scores of as high as 177.

In addition to her tutoring work, Zaynab brings significant professional experience in management consulting and healthcare operations. She worked as an associate consultant at Bain & Company, where she advised clients across the healthcare, energy, and consumer industries. She currently serves as Vice President of Operations at a healthcare startup, leading large-scale operational and strategic initiatives. Her corporate background gives her a unique understanding of the analytical and strategic thinking skills that the LSAT tests and that law schools value.

Zaynab’s tutoring approach emphasizes structure, adaptability, and building student confidence, with a focus on helping students understand not just what works but why it works. Rather than treating the LSAT as a memorization-based test, she teaches students how to think through Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension in a systematic and repeatable way. Zaynab is passionate about helping students reach the moment where the LSAT finally "clicks"and they begin to recognize exactly how the test wants them to think. She takes pride in guiding students through what can feel like an overwhelming process, breaking it down into manageable steps and building the confidence they need to perform at their best. She believes every student has the potential to significantly improve their score with the right strategy and support.

A fun fact about Zaynab is that she has six siblings and has lived abroad for most of her life!
