Sonakshi Bhalla, a Private LSAT Tutor at Juris Education

Prior to attending the University of Pennsylvania Carey Law School, Sonakshi graduated from Rice University with a BS in biosciences and a minor in philosophy. She scored a 174 on the LSAT and received the Joseph R. & Jeanne M. Steele Scholarship at Rice and a Dean's Fellowship at Penn Carey Law. With eight years of tutoring experience, Sonakshi has helped students achieve LSAT scores as high as 176 and increase their scores by an average of 8 points.

In addition to her tutoring work, Sonakshi brings extensive legal and research experience. She interned in the chambers of the Honorable Charles Eskridge III at the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Texas, where she conducted legal research and assisted law clerks in drafting briefs. She also completed internships at the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, Devlin Law Firm, and Pathways to Citizenship, where she collaborated with Department of Justice representatives on immigration cases on behalf of asylum seekers and DACA recipients. Sonakshi is a published researcher and first author of a systematic review on ethical issues facing professional medical interpreters in healthcare settings. She also studied international humanitarian law through the Danish Institute for Study Abroad in Copenhagen, furthering her understanding of global law.

Sonakshi is also an accomplished researcher and published author. She has co-authored a paper published in Cancers examining metastasis pathways in tumor cells, and she is the first author of a systematic review on ethical issues surrounding professional medical interpreters in healthcare settings, currently under review at BMC Medical Ethics. She has also contributed as a co-author to a poster presentation on telomere biology disorders. Her research spans the Bertuch Lab at Texas Children's Hospital, the Goodarzi Lab at the University of California, San Francisco, and the Baker Institute for Public Policy at Rice, where she hosted a workshop training over 30 medical interpreters and healthcare professionals.

As an LSAT tutor, Sonakshi draws on her background in philosophy to bring particular expertise to Logical Reasoning, where understanding the structure of an argument is essential. She is skilled at simplifying complex reasoning patterns, building personalized strategies for each student, and creating a supportive learning environment. Her approach emphasizes not only increasing scores but also building confidence.

Outside of tutoring, Sonakshi is an adventure enthusiast who has been bungee jumping, ziplining, and paragliding. Skydiving is next on her list! When she's not chasing thrills, you can find her on the tennis court or planning her next trip.
