Iris has a decade of experience in higher education admissions. She spent eight years in admissions at the California Western School of Law as a recruiter and Assistant Director of Admissions. She also served as the Director of Admissions at Golden Gate University School of Law. Iris currently serves as the Assistant Director of Academic Achievement at CWSL.

Iris earned her JD at the California Western School of Law. During her time in admissions at CWSL, she presented numerous workshops on admissions and application-related concepts, guided prospective law students, aided the admissions decision process, and became a senior member of the Law School Admissions Council's subcommittee on misconduct and irregularities. Through this position, she gained a keen eye for exactly how to avoid the most common (and serious) mistakes in the admissions process.

Prior to law school, Iris graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in political science and international studies from the University of California at Irvine. Her broad experience in the legal field includes internships with the San Diego Volunteer Lawyer Program, a position with Federal Senator Barbara Boxer's San Diego office, and a stint as a law clerk with a private estate planning firm in Banker's Hill. She also spent several years teaching, serving as the Director of Bar Services and a Professor of Practice at Golden Gate University School of Law, where she taught writing courses and subject review courses focused on bar exam writing. She also served as an adjunct professor at the USD School of Law.

Iris considers helping enthusiastic future lawyers begin their own journey into the legal community to be her true calling. She has a deep understanding and empathy for the challenges law school poses, and her approach focuses on helping students stand out as individuals who understand their strengths and can convey their excitement for beginning a career in law. Her extensive experience with the admissions process also enables her to help students show admissions committees that they are ideal candidates for their program.

As a coach, Iris excels at breaking down the application process into manageable steps and helping candidates determine their strengths and how to best showcase them in their applications. She helps students present themselves as capable, enthusiastic, and prepared to meet the challenges of law school. Iris is excited to help Juris students achieve their dreams of obtaining admission to their top-choice schools.

As a fun fact, Iris has been playing the tenor drum in Scottish bagpipe bands since her freshman year of high school. She even met her husband through pipe band, and they both play in competing professional pipe bands.
