While at NYU School of Law, Gabriel was involved on campus through the NYU Review of Law & Social Change and Black Law Students Association. He began his legal career at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison LLP, where he spent two summers as a summer associate before joining the firm as an associate after graduation. He later practiced at Fenwick & West LLP, where he represented emerging companies, investors, private equity sponsors, and public and private companies in financings and merger and acquisitions transactions. He also previously served as Deputy General Counsel to a private single-family office, where he was the first dedicated legal hire, and advised the principal and leadership team on direct investments, acquisitions, corporate governance, private fund investments, and entity structuring. Now an associate at Finn Dixon & Herling LLP, Gabriel advises private equity sponsors and portfolio companies on complex middle-market acquisitions and strategic transactions.
Gabriel has worked on both sides of the admissions process. At NYU Law, he served as an admissions interviewer, conducting interviews with applicants, and as an admitted student ambassador, speaking with admitted students about academics, student life, and career opportunities at the school. This experience has given Gabriel firsthand insight into what distinguishes a compelling, thoughtful application.
As a counselor, Gabriel combines admissions-side perspective with the judgment, precision, and storytelling skills developed through a demanding legal career. He helps applicants identify the experiences, values, and ambitions that make them distinctive, then translate them into an authentic and cohesive application narrative. He is particularly effective at strengthening personal statements, refining resumes, developing thoughtful school lists, helping applicants prepare for interviews, and ensuring candidates present themselves with clarity and confidence.
Gabriel understands that applying to law school can feel exciting and overwhelming, especially for applicants trying to make high-stakes decisions about their future. His approach is candid and highly collaborative: he meets applicants where they are, helps them develop a concrete strategy, and pushes them to produce work that is polished and genuinely their own. Gabriel is passionate about making the process more accessible and helping future lawyers see that their backgrounds, perspectives, and life experiences can be real strengths in an application.
Gabriel spends many weekends fishing from charter boats out of Queens. Back on land, he collects niche fragrances.
