At Michigan State University, Florence received several honors, including the Order of Merit Community Service Award, the ASMSU John McQuitty Student Advocacy Award, the Michigan State University Honors College National Scholarship, and was named a Truman Finalist. During her time in college, she served as the President of the Honors College Dean's Advisory Council and Vice President of the African Students Union.

Florence played a pivotal role in nationwide efforts to provide legal services to Afghan parolees arriving in the U.S. following the August 2021 evacuation. While working at Church World Service, she handled numerous asylum cases, proudly noting that every application she submitted was approved.
Throughout her career, Florence has supported prospective law students as an admissions coach. Having navigated the admissions journey herself without prior guidance, she is passionate about sharing her insights to help others succeed. Her extensive legal experience has deepened her understanding of how students can connect their unique experiences to future success in law school and beyond. Having worked with people from places like Afghanistan, Ghana, Mali, Honduras, and Colombia, she values meeting people where they are and prioritizing understanding their experiences.
Florence also recognizes the identity- and background-based barriers that often come with the admissions process and is dedicated to supporting students however she can. Drawing from her own experience and those she has mentored, she believes that students from all backgrounds, including those underrepresented, can successfully present themselves as competitive candidates. She hopes to continue this important work, especially in helping bring more students from underrepresented backgrounds into the legal community.
Florence is originally from Mississippi and is the child of Nigerian immigrants. She has had a multicultural upbringing and has been fortunate to experience life in various parts of the U.S.
