Juris Education interviewed experts at Southern University Law Center, for an exclusive look at what sets the school's Trial Advocacy Program apart.
Southern University Law Center’s Trial Advocacy Program provides students with comprehensive training in litigation and courtroom practice. Membership is earned through strong performance in the intra-school mock trial competition and requires students to maintain good academic standing. Once selected, members participate in a weekly seminar designed to develop essential trial skills, including case analysis, witness examination, and the delivery of persuasive opening and closing statements.
In addition to coursework, the program contributes to the Law Center community by offering advocacy workshops, presentations, and its annual Lunch & Learn series. New members also participate in an intensive three-day trial advocacy boot camp designed to refine technique and build confidence. Through hands-on training and professional experience, Southern University Law Center’s Trial Advocacy Program gives future advocates the skills and confidence they need to succeed in the courtroom.
