What makes Georgetown College's Pre-Law Program of Distinction uniquely valuable for aspiring law students?

Our Pre-Law Program of Distinction offers a variety of benefits to our students - not only those intending to go to law school, but also those who are interested in careers in law enforcement; policy research and advocacy; and public service. Our Program:

• Works closely with the Department of Political Science and other disciplines to consistently offer intensive law-related courses with small enrollments.
• Invites to campus speakers representing the wide variety of law-related professions.
• Invites to campus admissions officials from various law schools.
• Coordinates internship opportunities for academic credit.
• Provides always available one-on-one advising on:
  
  • Determining whether law school or another law-related profession is the right choice.
  • Selecting majors and courses.
  • Preparing for the LSAT.
  • Completing law and graduate school application materials.

How does your program prepare students for the realities of law school and the legal field?

Our Pre-Law Program of Distinction works one-on-one with our students to ensure they are being exposed to the courses, internships, speakers, and other opportunities that provide insight into whether a law-related profession is the appropriate choice for them. These efforts include those listed in answer to Question #1 above.

Our record of success is very strong, with our students consistently being accepted to law schools across the country and securing other opportunities; and then pursuing careers of meaning and purpose.
