NSU Law's IP, Technology, and Cybersecurity Law Concentration sits at the heart of NSU Law’s Technology and Innovation program, recognized in National Jurist’s Top 12 Most Innovative Law Schools for 2025. The Concentration combines the fields of intellectual property (copyright, trademark, trade secret, patent, and rights of publicity reflected in entertainment and sports law) with the fields of law and technology (artificial intelligence, ediscovery, privacy, cybersecurity law, fintech, blockchain) to provide students maximum flexibility. Many students also combine this concentration with NSU Law’s nationally recognized Health Law Concentration to emphasize the intersection of healthcare technology and patient privacy.
Concentration Faculty are among the nation’s top recognized scholars in their fields, but NSU prides itself on faculty who prioritize student engagement. Concentration faculty supervise one-on-one independent research projects, teach small-enrollment seminar courses, and regularly coach Concentration-related competition teams.
The Concentration includes clinical and externship opportunities such as the Sharon & Mitchell Berger Entrepreneurial Law Clinic, the Patent Prosecution Workshop, and participation with national legal organizations such as the ABA-BLS Cyber and Technology Committee. Through a wide offering of courses, hands-on experience, and real-world connections the Concentration ensures graduates enter practice with both technical expertise and professional networks that distinguish them and prepare them for the ever-changing discipline.
NSU Law offers a distinctive student-centered educational experience combining rigorous academics with extensive hands-on learning opportunities and the technologies reshaping legal practice to prepare preparing graduates to excel from day one of their legal careers.
Our robust clinical and externship programs allows students to work with live clients under expert faculty and lawyer supervision, developing practical skills while representing real clients in real cases. This bridges the gap between classroom theory and courtroom practice, building professional judgment and ethical awareness essential to effective advocacy.
NSU Law's commitment to experiential learning extends well beyond the clinical and externship programs through the nationally recognized legal technology program, highly ranked legal writing program, and nationally recognized moot court and trial competition programs. Together, these centers of excellence help students develop their written advocacy, communication, trial skills, technological expertise, and interpersonal skills essential for the successful attorney.
Most importantly, NSU Law fosters a supportive, engaged community where collaboration thrives over competition. Our collegial environment and strong academic success program ensures students develop as skilled attorneys and leaders who embody integrity and professionalism. Employers consistently recognize NSU Law graduates for their exceptional preparation and readiness to contribute meaningfully from day one.
