Many pre-law students wonder if LSAT tutoring could be the answer to achieving a high LSAT score. In this guide, we’ll outline exactly what working with Juris Education’s private LSAT tutors looks like and how we can help you maximize your score before test day.
The first step is to choose a tutoring package that aligns with your needs and score goals. You will speak with a Juris Education Enrollment Manager during a free 20-minute consultation.
The Enrollment Manager will ask questions to determine which package fits your needs best. They will ask you about your planned test date, when you want to apply to law school, and the challenges you’ve faced so far as you prepare for the LSAT.
No two tutoring plans are the same, because every student learns differently and has their own way of studying and digesting material. Almost every aspect of our programs can be customised. Here are a few ways we can personalize your LSAT tutoring program:
If you can't find exactly what you're looking for, your Enrollment Director can create a custom service or payment plan that fits your goals and budget.
Here’s what Linnea, a law school reapplicant, thought about working with us through her tutoring program:
“The LSAT tutor [that Juris Education] connected me with helped me increase my score by 8 points within a month, which is crazy! I was so happy I had found a tutor I could work with and see results from.”
We helped Linnea transform her profile, including providing one-on-one LSAT tutoring, to help her get accepted to 13 out of 15 schools she applied to. You can hear Linnea’s whole story and a breakdown of her experience by watching the video below:

Juris Education’s private LSAT tutors work with only three to five students at a time. Many larger tutoring companies will allow one tutor to work with many students individually at once (often ranging from 5 to 15). Some firms that offer classroom, group, or hybrid tutoring packages will have one tutor managing several cohorts of 15 to 30 students. Our small student-to-tutor ratio (from 3:1 to 5:1) ensures that every student who works with us receives personalized, one-on-one attention focused only on their needs.
After you are matched with a tutor, they will email you to set up a date and time for your first meeting. You will also receive login information for JurisOS, our online communication platform and organizational tool for students, tutors, and parents.
The JurisOS home screen, pictured below, allows you to message your tutor, see your personalized LSAT study schedule, and view weekly assignments to stay on track throughout your program.
Your first session with your tutor is an introductory call to help you learn more about each other and build a rapport. Your tutor will ask you questions about your background, LSAT goals, target JD programs, and learning style to tailor their instruction to what you need. This call helps your tutor further personalize your tutoring program and is the first step toward them creating a strategy to help you improve your score.
Your first call will cover these key points:
How frequently you meet with your tutor depends on your availability, your planned test date, your goal score, and how many hours are in your program. You and your tutor will determine a tentative tutoring session schedule that works around your availability and uses all hours in your package before test day.
After your first meeting with your tutor, you can use the messaging system within the JurisOS platform. You can use this system to chat with your tutor, ask them questions, and schedule or reschedule your next tutoring session.
You can see an example of the JurisOS messaging system below:
You and your tutor will meet weekly to gauge your progress toward your goal score. These sessions will focus on building your LSAT LR and RC skills. Your tutor will help you identify question types, develop test-taking strategies to improve your speed and accuracy, and explain questions you answered incorrectly in your weekly assignments and practice tests.
You can see all upcoming tutoring sessions using the JurisOS scheduling feature, as seen below. You can also add your tutoring schedule to HEY Calendar, Google Calendar, Outlook, and organizational calendars.
Every session with your tutor will be personalized to your LSAT prep needs. The general structure of each call is as follows:

You can see an overview of your weekly assignments in the JurisOS To-Dos tab in the screenshot below:
The To-Dos tab lists all items to be completed weekly to ensure you don’t miss any content practice or key steps as you navigate your tutoring program.
Your tutor will also triage weekly assignments within the JurisOS Card Table tab, as seen below.
The Cards Table helps you and your tutor see which assignments you haven’t started, which ones you’re working on, and which are ready for your tutor’s review. Your tutor will review your assignment and evaluate your performance. You and your tutor will take up any questions you missed or answered incorrectly during your practice in your next tutoring session.
Your tutor will also assign full-length LSAT practice tests to measure your score improvements throughout the program. Your practice test performance can help your tutor identify remaining gaps in how you approach LR and RC questions, time management issues, and anything else that may be impeding your progress toward your goal LSAT score.
For example, you can read Thomas’ experience with us below to learn how we helped him improve his approach to LSAT questions and boost his score by 16 points.
We’re committed to ensuring every hour spent with your tutor positively impacts your LSAT score. Our commitment extends to altering your LSAT prep plan as needed based on your practice test and weekly assignment performance.
It’s possible that your LSAT prep needs to change as you progress through your tutoring program. For example, you may find that you master the RC section sooner than anticipated, or that you need more time to learn how to correctly identify LR question types. Your tutor will alter your LSAT prep plan to reflect your current needs and ensure that every hour you spend together maximizes your score.
The JurisOS Automatic Check-Ins platform allows students and parents to share comments, struggles, and questions with tutors. If you need to spend more or less time on a concept or section, you and your tutor can discuss how to further personalize your study schedule.
