Mary Caroline Heinen, a Private LSAT Tutor at Juris Education

Before attending the University of Michigan Law School, Mary Caroline earned a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering from Columbia University. She also holds a Master of Management from the University of Michigan Ross School of Business, where she graduated with distinctions and was inducted into Beta Gamma Sigma. Mary Caroline currently serves as an Innovations Partnership Fellow at the University of Michigan, producing market research and technology evaluation reports for their innovations.

Mary Caroline has worked with the intellectual property litigation group at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP in New York and completed internships with Foley & Lardner LLP in Chicago and the United States Patent & Trademark Office. At Michigan Law, she earned a Certificate of Merit Award in Contracts and Honors in Legal Writing. Mary Caroline is also a member of the Women Law Students Association and the Intellectual Property Students Association, where she routinely mentors students.

Mary Caroline’s background in mechanical engineering gives her a strong foundation in logic and structured problem-solving, which she applies to help students build skills across Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension. Her experiences tutoring Columbia University undergraduates in computer science, physics, and statistics courses, coupled with her experience as a grader for marketing and business classes at the University of Michigan Ross School of Business inform her approach as an LSAT tutor.

Mary Caroline believes the LSAT should not become a barrier to law school entry for passionate prospective applicants. She is committed to helping students develop the strategies and confidence they need to succeed on test day.

Mary Caroline was a Division 1 runner throughout college and during her Master’s program. She now trains semi-professionally and will be competing in her first marathon in Detroit soon. She has lived in seven states and is always exploring new running routes!
