Annessa earned her JD from Stetson University College of Law and holds a BA in sociology and criminology from the University of Maryland. She received the William F. Blews Pro Bono Service Award and was named to Who’s Who Among Students in American Universities and Colleges.
Annessa leads admissions initiatives for the Nova Southeastern University College of Allopathic Medicine, where she developed a new admissions department and ensured compliance with accreditation standards, contributing to the school’s accreditation with 100% admissions compliance. Previously, she managed undergraduate recruitment at St. Petersburg College and served as Associate Director and Admissions Director for Barry University School of Law. As Admissions Director at Nova Southeastern University, Annessa leads the admissions committee, reviews applications, conducts and facilitates interviews, advises on admissions and scholarship awards, and develops standards and rubrics for admission and waitlists. Her work at Barry University School of Law included serving on the admissions committee, reviewing applications, advising on admissions, and developing scholarship guidelines.
Throughout her multiple roles in higher education, Annessa oversaw admissions, enrollment, and operations, strengthened accreditation outcomes, increased revenue, implemented innovative programs, and improved institutional performance metrics. Across multiple admissions cycles, she consistently achieved strong conversion and yield rates while guiding students through application, advising, and enrollment processes. A member of the Florida Bar for 15+ years, Annessa offers students unmatched insight into the admissions process, blending legal expertise with a strategic, outcomes-driven approach.
Annessa began her legal career practicing civil litigation with a focus on bankruptcy, medical malpractice, and insurance defense. She has extensive experience in mediation, trial preparation, and case resolution. She also founded a nonprofit dedicated to advising underserved students and has served as legal counsel on Presidential and Gubernatorial campaigns, supporting election law compliance and professional recruitment.
As a coach, Annessa combines structure, efficiency, and empathy. She offers tailored guidance on personal statements, resumes, interview prep, and strategic planning, helping applicants find their voice and tell compelling stories. Students she has worked with have been accepted to law schools in 20+ states.
