How We Help Law School Applicants Win Scholarships
Michael

Scholarships Won
Paul & Daisy Soros Fellowship for New Americans: $90,000
Cumulative GPA
3.9
LSAT Score
175
Enrolled in Comprehensive JD Program
Activities Completed Under Juris Education Advisement:
Legal Assistant at a Civil Rights Law Firm in Phoenix
Policy Research Fellow at a Nonprofit Focused on Indigenous Rights
Volunteer Caseworker for the Arizona Justice Project
Research Published in the Cornell Law Review
Challenge:
After scoring 150 on his first LSAT attempt, Michael reflected on his law school readiness as a senior. With a lower LSAT score, high GPA, and only a few extracurriculars to showcase, he determined that his profile likely wasn’t competitive enough to be admitted to a T-14 law school. Michael wanted expert guidance on what admissions committees look for in applicants and how he could use his gap year to leverage his skills and network.
How We Helped:
We conducted an in-depth persona assessment to assess current key takeaways about Michael’s involvement, activities, and experiences
Tutored Michael for his upcoming LSAT test date, helping him ace Logical Reasoning and Reading Comprehension topics to achieve a top 1% score
Helped Michael craft and edit an application to become a legal assistant at a civil rights firm in Phoenix
Guided Michael to apply for a Policy Research Fellowship through the Native Nations Institute (NNI), editing all documents to perfection
Helped Michael become a volunteer caseworker for the Arizona Justice Project, using his free time to pursue his passion for justice for wrongly incarcerated individuals
Guided Michael through the Juris Research Fellowship, leading to his work being published in the Cornell Law Review
Outcome:
Michael was admitted to six T-14 law schools. He attended Cornell Law School on a full-tuition scholarship.

Scholarships Won
Fish & Richardson 1L Diversity Fellowship: $30,000
NAPABA Law Foundation Scholarship: $7,500
Cumulative GPA
3.9
LSAT Score
173
Enrolled in Comprehensive T-14 Program
Activities Completed Under Juris Education Advisement:
Research Assistant in Rice’s Department of Sociology
Sarthak was a sophomore who decided to major in sociology during college. However, he wasn’t sure how to balance his course load to retain a higher GPA while gaining the breadth of knowledge and skills he’d need in law school. He also wanted to ensure his profile would be strong enough to skip taking a gap year for work experience, streamlining his path toward a JD.
How We Helped:
Helped Sarthak create a class schedule for the next three years that would help him build reading, writing, and analytical skills for law school
Advised on which courses would strategically boost and retain Sarthak's GPA based on an in-depth review of his transcript
Provided 1:1 LSAT tutoring that would provide Sarthak with a guaranteed 165+ score—his tutor’s guidance helped him work through LR questions and achieve a 173 on the exam
Helped craft and edit Sarthak's application for a paid internship through the Leadership Rice Mentorship Experience
Guided Sarthak to pursue his passion for criminal law by helping him craft a volunteer application to work with the Texas Innocence Project
Helped Sarthak publish research in Law Text Culture after completing the Juris Research & Publication program
Outcome:
Sarthak was accepted to 10 law schools, including his #1 choice—Yale Law School.
